Dev Leads: Points of Emphasis

Always #1:

Please make sure the Dev has applied all of the client notes. Be sure to check all the comments and the project folder.

Some of the project notes can get lost deep in the comments. Be sure to scroll down and open any comments.

#2:

Legacy Sites: Please make sure the Dev has brought over all the important info from a legacy site (unless the notes say otherwise).

  • Devs have been cutting corners bringing over legacy info lately. Be sure to send the site back if you notice any important missing info/pages.
  • If the notes say "Same Site Map" please make sure all the menu items and pages match with the legacy site.

#3:

Make sure the Dev has checked for Social media accounts, added galleries and reviews if applicable, and linked the accounts to the footer.

#4:

Make sure each distinct keyword has its own section on the homepage.

#5:

Please don't hesitate to send the site back to the Devs. If you do make changes to the site, please let the Dev know the changes you made.

  • The more we work with the Devs, the more they will learn, and the easier our jobs will be going forward : )
  • Please use/send the resource links at the bottom of the page for other common issues that come up.

#6:

Stay conscious of workflow, delays, and timelines for the betterment of the entire team.

  • Only claim as many sites as you can reasonably check by the end of your workday.
  • If you don't have time for a site, remove your name and inform the team in the group chat that it is up for grabs.
  • Do your best to avoid performing extensive design edits by yourself—your team and the freelancers are here to help!
  • Likewise, try to prevent sending last-minute collaborations to freelancers when sites are nearing their Promise Dates.

#7:

Collaborate and communicate often with your team of Dev Leads.

  • Sharing information enables us to make improvements. If a freelancer is not satisfied with some aspect of our processes or performance as Dev Leads, inform the team so we can start thinking of solutions immediately!
  • Be present in the group chat throughout the day so the team can offer each other support and suggestions.
